Nordic mythology

Nordic

The Nordic lived from about 200 to 500 AD in Northern Europe and Scandinavia. After 700 AD, the Nordic migrated in search of new land, settling in parts of the British Isles, Iceland, Greenland and eastward into Russia. After this period became known as the Nordic Vikings.

Midgard is the realm where humans live, the Earth. Was created when the god Odin and his brothers Vili and Ve killed the giant Ymir. In Nordic mythology, the world was considered a giant tree, called the World Tree or Yggdrasil, which existed around the nine kingdoms, each at a different level. Stand to the tree roots and branches shade the world gave him. The roots of the tree down to the underworld. On the surface, Midgard is surrounded by a giant snake. Bifrost is a huge bridge that connects Asgard to Midgard, the home of the gods.

Aegir was a fierce god of the sea. He had fingers like claws. His wife was named Ran, and had nine daughters, the maidens who were thought to moving waves. Aegir sometimes appeared in the sea to destroy the boats. Often, he and his wife were using nets to capture the sailors, and bring them to the underwater kingdom. The masters gave coins to each sailor, as if they might have caught a gift to the gods. Saxon pirates offered as a sacrifice to every tenth prisoner, thus ensuring a safe journey through the Sea of Aegir. Aegir was the god represented as a powerful, often holding a spear. He is very similar to the Greek god Poseidon.

Njord was the god of the sea and wind in the Nordic mythology. He is the father of Freyr and Freya, and the leader of the Vanir. Njord married to the giant Skadi. Skadi's father was killed by the gods. To compensate for its loss, Skadi was allowed to choose a husband among the gods. She was not allowed to look them in the face, just feet. She chose the most beautiful feet you saw, thinking it belonged to the god Balder. In fact they were the feet of Njord. Skadi was accustomed to living in the icy mountains and Njord was accustomed to living at sea. This led to his complicated marriage, and eventually decided to live separately.

Tyr was the god of the sky in the Nordic mythology. The sacrificed one of his hands for the sake of the gods. In Asgard, the land of the gods, had possessed a wolf named Fenrir. It was so big and fierce that only Tyr dared to approach. The gods decided to tie the wolf, using an unbroken chain made by the dwarfs. The wolf, wishing that the chain of evidence was harmless, he called one of the gods put one hand on your mouth while you put the chain. The beast was disappointed when he learned that the chain could not be broken. Tyr had sacrificed his hand so that the gods would feel more secure. Odin took the place of Tyr as a god of the sky around the ages eight and nine.

Odin was the god of the Nordic powerful. It was called The Great Father. He is represented as a middle-aged man with long, curly hair and beard. His gun, called Gungnir was a spear that he made the Dwarves. Was frequently accompanied by two ravens named Hugin (Thought) and Munin (memory). For his thirst for knowledge, Odin sacrificed one of his eyes to take the roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasil. To discover the secret of runes (magical incantations), Odin hung from the tree of the world for nine days.

Their special assistants were some women warriors called Valkyrie. The Valkyrie took the bodies of warriors killed in battles to Valhala, located in the town of Paradise. Around the eighth century and nine, took the role of Odin the sky god Tyr. Along with his brothers Vili and Ve, Odin created the world body of the giant Ymir.

Nordic mythology associates the aurora with the beautiful goddess Freya, the daughter of Njord and Skadi giant. Freya was the goddess of beauty and love, as well as battles and death. Friday was named for her. She always represent using his famous necklace called Brisingamen, which gave the dwarves. His brother was the Sun god Freyr. In one story, a man offered to rebuild the wall if the gods give Freya as his wife, as well as the Sun and Moon. The gods agreed, thinking that it was impossible to reconstruct the wall in six months. However, the man had almost finished the wall and there were only three days. Loki tricked the man and the man was unable to finish the wall in time. Freya was free of the control of man.

According to Nordic mythology, Freyr was associated with the Sun was the god of peace and fertility. His parents were the sea god Njord and Skadi giant. On a trip to the underworld saw and fell in love with the giant Gerd. He sent his servant, Skirnir on a trip to convince Gerd to marry him. It also gave him a magic sword to use it. Skirnir, however, was unable to convince Gerd to marry his master. It was not until threatened with the sword magic Gerd agreed to meet Freyr in a grove to become his wife. Skirnir trip to the underworld is symbolic of the winter months in the Nordic lands, where there are long periods of darkness.

In Nordic mythology, Sif was the wife of Thor, the mighty god of thunder. Sif was a loyal wife. She was considered the symbol of fidelity. Once the evil god Loki cut long blond braids to Sif. When Thor discovered this, he could not control his anger and grabbed Loki, threatening to break bones. Loki cried and asked for leniency and promised to convince Thor that dwarves hair to create a very pure refined gold, to grow like natural hair on the head of Sif.

One of the volcanoes of the planet Venus is known as the Nordic goddess Sif. Most elements of the planet Venus are named with the names of famous women and goddesses. The most likely reason for which is named for the elements of this is because Venus is the only planet that has the name of a goddess, the Roman goddess of love and beauty.

Bifrost, the rainbow was the bridge that connected the Earth called Midgard, to Asgard, home of the gods. Only the gods could cross this bridge, which was protected by the god Heimdall. This bridge has also been associated with the Milky Way.

It was believed that a great battle between good and evil end the destruction of the gods. During the battle, Bifrost was broken due to the weight of the monsters.

In the story, all the gods and everything on earth disappeared beneath the sea. However, the land rises from the water and life began again.

The picture above represents the Nordic concept of the universe as a huge tree which is located around the Earth. At the root of the tree is the world of the dead, the world of the gods and the giants.

Dreams

It was Sigmund Freud who discovered the importance of dreams to understand the personality of humans. An innovation that created a scandal in Vienna of the last century, but had already heard theories very bold. Consider the classical medicine believed that dreams were the result of a physical discomfort, and in the best case, evidence of mental chaos impossible to decipher. Had always been branded charlatans of all those who wanted to talk about the "logic of dreams." The romantic novel had been using the remedy of dreams as an element of passion or by guessing what was considered this as a literary fantasy that could never have a scientific validity.
Freud goes further by ordering the dreams in a kind of catalog of symbols to show that all the repressed emotions and passions inevitably appear in the minds of humans when they get into bed and shut my eyes. From this moment there is a crucial dreamlike universe that gives life to the unconscious. This was the basis of psychoanalysis, which took care of extending Carl Jumg, Adler, Karen Horney and Newman.
We assume that a simple glossary of the most common forms of dreams, with its meaning, from a general concept of psychoanalysis, may benefit those who use it. But only be taken as a reference, obsessive, should resort to a doctor of the mind.
Needless to madness to seek advice from a psychiatrist or a psychoanalyst. This custom seems so prevalent among Americans, as we see in movies, is a very high quality level of modern civilizations. The psychic should certainly talk to the scientist who knows how to listen and find solutions, in an isolated loneliness involves a stubborn error.

Multiple Personality

Multiple Personality Disorder is characterized by the patient is not aware of their problem, or at least it has not developed to their will. This condition corresponds to a process called dissociative identity disorder, and is so named because the person does not feel connected between a person and at different times of their lives.

Decoupling is often a necessary and common for many adults who try to forget a particular situation in your life for a while. In this way, the person is able to continue with an effective life, it operates in its work and family obligations, being a temporary situation and aware, and the result of an effort to move forward.
These reactions could also be called dissociative processes, but are temporary and we quickly reconnected without losing our identity, while we have full knowledge of what's happening to us. Also drugs and alcohol can lead to dissociative-like states, but in this case we are talking about a chemical change.

When the disorder can begin

The Multiple Personality Trastrorno starts early, before age 12, and frequently responds to a traumatic sexual abuse, physical and / or emotional. Disconnection serves to distance or dissociate the traumatic event, such as cheating yourself not to accept the emotional pain.
In the mentality of a child this mechanism works, as they can count on the power of magic and imagination, trying to break what is not pleasant. This is how it develops a dissociative amnesia, losing the memory of what happened, but is registered in the mind and returns to remember the trauma stimuli such as smells, words, colors, sounds, images, tastes, etc..

Multiple personality

In the "multiple personality," the person "forgets" itself and unwittingly becomes the other, often repeating this process several figures, of which there is usually one or two prevailing. What is interesting is that each of these personalities has her own way of being, feeling, thinking and reacting, and even in occasione one does not agree with the other.

The therapeutic treatment is necessary to help the person to survive the mental anguish of having to live in different directions, and to find peace of mind but can not integrate the different personalities into one. The objective is to negotiate the differences and learn to live with them.

We must be ready to claim what they want, express what we do not like and to apologize when the other person deserves it, we must never forget the respect and good manners towards other person.

Romance creates a perfect fit

The romance is just a phase that is if it gives way to another in which the members of the couple are as they are in reality.
